A brief introduction to BIRS with important logistical information, technology instruction, and opportunity for participants to ask questions.

Organizers introduce the purpose and structure of the event. Everyone briefly describes their research interests, data types, and major methodological challenges.

2-3 participants work together to present an overview of a major DHT area, for example: 1) Accelerometers and wearables, 2) Smartphone sensors and EMA, 3) Dynamic mobile interventions

Meet in the PDC front desk for a guided tour of The Banff Centre campus.

Participants work in groups to design a study integrating EMA and smartphone sensor data, and then present their study design to the group.

An opportunity to informally present, discuss, and get feedback on "big ideas" or ongoing/future work

Discuss how to sustain momentum after workshop and build out the mobile and wearable data science community. Potential discussion topics include: 1) Future meeting planning, 2) ASA Interest Group activities, 3) Communication, 4) Collaborative methods white paper

Set deadlines for initial collaborative follow-ups, outline a plan for at least one joint grant submission or joint publication in the coming months. Organizers and participants share final thoughts, commitments, and appreciation.
