Carnegie Group Visits BIRS

On September 29th, 2018, the 46th Carnegie Group Meeting of Science Ministers met in Banff, hosted by The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport. The delegation visited the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) as part of the Minister's showcasing of Canadian science and international collaboration.

BIRS Overview for the Ministers

The BIRS Director, Professor Nassif Ghoussoub, delivered a short presentation to the Carnegie Group delegation, giving an overview of BIRS. He was followed by BIRS Scientific Panelist, workshop organizer, and workshop participant Andrew Eckford, who gives a personal perspective of the BIRS experience. Mathematics Professor and BIRS organizer and participant of over 20 BIRS workshops, Kristine Bauer of University of Calgary, gives an overview of BIRS's Women in Mathematics initiatives.
