Description

The Banff International Research Station will host the "Extremal Combinatorics and Geometry" workshop in Banff from August 14 - 19, 2022.

The workshop Extremal combinatorics and geometry will focus on applying combinatorial methods in number theory and geometry. The goal is to gather experts and promising young researchers in combinatorics, geometry and number theory, to discuss the recent developments of combinatorial methods used in other areas. Over the past several years in particular, several ground-breaking results have been discovered, answering some of the oldest problems in the field. This workshop is a timely event to capitalize on this momentum.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT).
