January 29th, 2025 The NSF instructed BIRS to pause financial support for all NSF-funded activities, affecting all U.S.-based participants. Participants scheduled to attend workshops from January to June 2025 were notified of this directive.

February 2nd, 2025 A Temporary Restraining Order from a US Federal Court directed the NSF to reverse the funding freeze, allowing BIRS to reinstate its financial support for US-based participants.
