Participant Testimonials
This was the first somewhat larger and systematically organized gathering of people interested in topics related to decomposition/higher Segal spaces. From my perspective, the organizers selected a great mix of participants ranging from experts, over beginners, to scientists from related fields with a potential for interaction. I personally was most excited to hear about the construction of new examples of higher Segal spaces from partial groups - to me this was a completely new corner for examples, and it feels like there may be very interesting interactions with similar examples created from total positivity phenomena in cluster theory. I will certainly steer future students in this direction, and I'm very curious what will come out of this story. The workshop provided a great opportunity for early career researchers to interact - I was part of many conversations where new insights began to develop from informal conversations, and plans for future collaborations were made - that's exactly the kind of impact one would hope for.
