Description

The Banff International Research Station will host the "The Fourth International Workshop on the Perspectives on High-dimensional Data Analysis" workshop from to .

The goals of this workshop are to improve the understanding of high dimensional modeling and to bridge the gap among statisticians, computer scientists and mathematicians in understanding each other's tools. Objectives include: (1) highlight and expand the breadth of existing methods in high-dimensional data analysis and their potential for the advance of both mathematical and statistical sciences; (2) identify important directions for future research in the theory of regularization methods, algorithmic development, and methodology for different application areas; (3) facilitate collaboration between theoretical and subject-area researchers; and (4) provide opportunities for highly qualified personnel to interact with leading international researchers.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT).
